What we collect

Your email address, the California regions you choose, and which page you signed up from. If you choose to share them, also your first name, your degree (so we can skip alerts for programs you can't apply to), and any specific hospitals you follow. That's the whole list for the alerts: no resume, no account, no payment details. Residency Ready, the optional paid toolkit, is described in its own section below.

What we do with it

We email you when a residency program opens in your regions (for the programs we can monitor), remind you before a known deadline passes, and send a Monday roundup of what's open. We also keep a record of what we sent you, so we never send the same alert twice.

Now and then we also email you about Residency Ready, our optional toolkit. Those emails are separate from your alerts, and every one has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing also stops your free alerts.

What we never do

We don't sell your address, share it with hospitals, sponsors or anyone else, or use it for anything beyond the emails described above. Sponsors, if we ever have them, get a labeled slot in our emails; they never get the list.

Residency Ready (optional, paid)

Our promise: your personal files are deleted 7 days after you get your toolkit. Your lessons stay yours for life.

Here is exactly what that means. The resume you upload or paste is deleted as soon as your toolkit is made. The facts you confirm and the files and guides we make for you are kept, reachable only through your private link, until 7 days after you have your toolkit (the day its email reaches your inbox or you open your toolkit page). Then we delete them. If we never see that you got it, we keep them up to 30 days after you paid, so you don't lose them. After that we keep only your email address and your purchase record, so you can open your lessons again, plus your program picks, your Ready Check ticks and the date your best first shot is expected to open (public program data). If you start but never pay, we delete everything 7 days after you started.

You can delete your personal files early from your toolkit page and keep your lessons, or email us to delete everything, including your email and your lesson access. Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see your card number, and we keep only the payment record (your email, the date, the amount and any refund).

We never sell your information or share your resume with any hospital, recruiter or sponsor. Our AI provider processes the resume and facts you confirm to prepare the files. Stripe processes payment, and our email provider delivers your private link. Do not include patient information. Copying a guide into ChatGPT shares its contents with your own ChatGPT account; deleting this order does not delete that conversation.

Two things nurses ask us. Your RN license number is treated like the rest of your resume: stored with it, printed on the Licensure line, never sold, never shown to a hospital, a recruiter or a sponsor, and deleted on the same schedule. It is also public record on the Board of Registered Nursing site, which is why employers expect to see it. And software writes and checks your resume. To do that we send your resume text and the facts you confirm to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude models, under their business terms: they do not use it to train their models and they delete it from their systems within 30 days. No other AI service sees your resume, and no person outside NurseGradAlert does. You can check both for yourself: the Board's license lookup and Anthropic's business terms.

If you took part in our earlier free resume pilot, your files are deleted 30 days after your resume was ready, as your order page said. The answers you give to our questions are kept, without your resume attached.

Leaving

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it works in one click. Unsubscribing stops everything immediately. If you want your address deleted entirely rather than just silenced, email hello@nursegradalert.com and we'll remove it. We reply within one business day.

Visits and email opens

We use privacy-friendly page analytics to count visits to the website, with no cookies and no tracking across other sites; those counts don't identify you. Our email service does tell us whether the emails we send you are being opened and clicked; we use that only to check the emails are working, never to profile you or to share with anyone.
